Cuphead is the titular main protagonist of Cuphead. He is Mugman's irresponsible older twin brother and, like the rest of his family, lives on Inkwell Isle.

Cuphead is typically a nice person alongside his younger twin brother Mugman, enjoying an easy-going and good life, but is relentlessly optimistic.

Intelligence: Above Average (Cuphead is a surprisingly skilled fighter, being able to single handedly defeat the entire Root Pack, match and defeat all of Hilda Berg's strange transformations, defeat boxers such as Ribby and Croaks, overcome Djimmi the Great's magic powers, defeat machines created specifically for battle, such as Dr. Kahl's Robot and Werner Werman's robotic cat, defeat all of the monsters from the Phantom Express while heavily outnumbered, battle his way through all of King Dice's Minions in quick succession, match and defeat King Dice, who is the Devil's right-hand man, and finally defeating the Devil himself in direct battle.)

Standard Tactics: Cuphead will fight from a range while making use of his energy bullets, EX Moves and Supers. Cuphead will parry attacks by jumping over them or dodge by teleporting.

Weaknesses: Cuphead is extremely greedy, which can lead him to make bad decisions, such as making a deal with the Devil. If Cuphead is killed, he can only be revived with an outside strikes his soul.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Peashooter: Cuphead fires energy bullets from his fingers.
    • EX Move: Mega Blast: Cuphead fires a huge fireball from his fingers.
  • Spread: Cuphead fires red pyramid bullets from his fingers, which then spread in four rolls. This move has a lower range than Peashooter.
    • EX Move: Eight Way: Cuphead fired eight large bullets all around himself.
  • Chaser: Cuphead fires homing bullets from his finger. This move does less damage than Peashooter.
    • EX Move: Chaos Orbit: Cuphead fires multiple homing bullets, which fly around his body and damage opponents that come too close.
  • Lobber: Cuphead fires a purple orb that bounces twice before exploding. This move does more damage than Peashooter, but Cuphead must way a few seconds after firing it for the orb to explode.
    • EX Move: Kablooey: Cuphead fires a large orb that explodes on impact.
  • Charge: Cuphead charges and then fires a large spiral of flames that deal massive damage. This move does more damage than Peashooter, but Cuphead must charge it for a few moments before firing it.
    • EX Move: Radical Barrage: Cuphead creates a large eplosion that strikes opponents all around him.
  • Roundabout: Cuphead fires a boomerang bullet, which will come back if it does not hit anything after traveling a short distance.
    • EX Move: Jumbo Rebound: Cuphead fires large boomerang bullets that strike the opponent multiple times.
  • Super: Energy Beam: Cuphead fires a large blast of liquid coming out of his head, dealing massive damage.
  • Super: Invincibility: Cuphead transforms into a giant eyeless version of his own head, which then spits out a golden sparkling version of himself. While golden, Cuphead's durability increases massively, to the point of being unaffected by any attac in the game. Cuphead will go back to normal after a few seconds.
  • Super: Giant Ghost: Cuphead's soul exists his body, revealing itself to be a large muscular ghost, which will fly through the air while spinning, and strike any enemy that comes near.
