Summary[]
The Everlasting Dragons were immortal beings existing above ground before the dawn of the Gods and Humans. They ruled over the world and were made immortal by their stone scales. However, eventually, the Gods found the Lord Souls (namely Lord Gwyn, the Witch of Izalith, Gravelord Nito, and The Furtive Pygmy), and this began the Great War.
After many failures, Gwyn, Lord of Light, convinced an Everlasting Dragon to betray his brethren- Seath the Scaleless was an, obviously, scaleless dragon and was thus not immortal, and resented his brothers. He taught their weakness to Gwyn- lightning.
Gwyn pierced their scales with his legions of Silver Knights, all making use of divine lightning. Gravelord Nito let loose a miasma of death and disease into their ranks, and the Witch of Izalith melted their giant stone archtrees.
Very few dragons survived the war. Notable survivors include Darkeater Midir, Seath the Scaleless, the Stone Dragon, and Black Dragon Kalameet, among others.
